out of this world

Archive for the month “June, 2015”

I find this very interesting. I love the way the story was told.

A familiar pain stumps through my chest

This familiar pain stronger than the rest

(Coughs out blood)

The redness spread across from me

Spread so wide for my dying eyes to see

My fingers tremble reaching for the spatter

Fingers compete with blood on which is darker

(Drowsiness sets in)

I am Anikulapo, I cannot be killed

I have swam where men couldn’t have sailed

Walked on what seemed like lava

And strangled bulls only for their liver

(Eyes getting shut)

I cannot be killed

Not even from a tiger in swimming was also skilled

A little sleep is all I need on my couch

I am Anikulapo, I have Death in my pouch

I could feel the life draw from his chest

Oh the stench, I wish I couldn’t take you just yet

(Covers nose)

The fear in his eyes were wider than the eyes I could see

Another selfie

This is not another selfie
it is a selfie of her heart
the flame of love consumed

You broke down her shield,
Set her heart on fire
Then left her in a limbo

This is not another selfie
It is a selfie of her soul
Reduced to shreds by your silence.

Battle of Wills

The fists raised and pummeled

It plunged and pulverized

Taken unaware, the victim fell

Struck to a pulp, the spirit melt.

A ray of hope, the spirit breathe

Slowly pull the pieces together, the victim lifts.

Was he standing tall? He did not care.

Breathless he slashed, he slashed and pierced.

He could not squat to stare. Needless to say

He stood his guard, pointless to note

Once beaten twice shy, baseless was it all

Had he given up, nonetheless life threw the first punch.

He would live to tell how he survived

He would boast of nothing but the faith he had

He would write his name in the history of mentors

He did not give up, he survived.

Some days are so quiet

You hear your blood

Flowing through

Your viens.

New morning

hope alive

New life

Grateful heart.

Beauty in the wild

Would you

If you could see into my mind, would you be afraid?

Would you run? Or be so kind to locate where it’s made.

Day and night at any time, the thoughts begin to wade.

More than one they form a line and cut me like a blade.

If you could dive into my soul, would you comprehend?

Would you hear? Or be too whole to try and understand.

Black and blue I’ve played my role while sadness held my hand.

We can share but wind will blow our dreams built on the sand.

If you could swim inside my heart would you disapprove?

Would you smile? Or be too smart to have yourself to lose.

Loving laughing from the start, if only life was smooth.

Worth my while but souls apart, so silence I now choose.

Swiftly dream and softly sigh, exhale the tainted bliss.

Can you hold my fragile life with joy to reminisce?

Waiting, waiting, terrified that maybe I might miss.

So I begin to rectify myself from all of this.
